I built most but not all of the buildings on the following layouts.
SALEM TERMINAL UNION
My home layout started in 2000. It was taken down and set up twice after that. This third version was set up in 2018.
CARL CHANCEY'S LAYOUT
I started building kits for Carl back in 1999. I am proud to show how Carl has added details and incorporated my buildings into his layout. The layout was built by Scale Models Arts & Technologies. Inc.. Dave Frary also worked on Carl's layout after installation. All buildings shown below were built by Stu Gralnik of Model Building Services.
TIM COOPER'S
"SMOKEY MOUNTAIN TRAINS"
In the years 2000-2002 I built kits for Tim Cooper's "Smoky Mountain Trains" located in Bryson City NC. The layout was built by Vernon Peachey of Model Railroad Custom Benchwork. Below are some of the kits built by Stu Gralnik of Model Building Services for Tim's 24'x45' layout.
STEVE GAROFALO'S LAYOUT
The El represents three stations, including the Ditmars Blvd. terminus, of the BMT Astoria line, going through Long Island City and Astoria Queens NY. Steve grew up a few blocks from the Ditmars Blvd. station, the last stop on the line. The Queensboro Plaza station is the last one in Queens for the Astoria line before it goes under the East River to Manhattan. The buildings and signs on this layout were made to represent the actual buildings along the elevated tracks. Many enjoyable hours were spent talking on the phone looking at images from GOOGLE earth and GOOGLE street view. I have listed the buildings built by Model Building Services under the pictures. All other street stores are by Elfen Models. The El structures were made by Pat Fusco, owner of Steeltoys.com. and weathered by Steve after installation.
Aaron’s G gauge layout
Aaron’s G gauge layout is an 8’x 18’ display, which features Thomas the Tank engine and James running around a circus filled with clowns, wild animals and other circus acts. Next to the circus is a small town with a parade marching down Main Street. Other fun scenes include a farm, Indian settlement and track workers doing more talking then work. This is surrounded by a loop of track with a circus train and a passenger train.
Aaron was setting up his G gauge trains at the Greenberg train show in Wilmington, MA . The layout, which started out as a single loop of track on an 8’ x 8’ table has continually grown and changed to its present size and configuration.
The layout, which was located just inside the entrance, is the first layout that the kids run to screaming “Thomas”. And usually the last layout that they stop back at, on their way out of the train show.
1860s layout
Table and track designed and built by Dave Laughridge (Dr.Tinker).
Buildings and scenery by Stu Gralnik (Model Building Services).
RON'S DIORAMAS TOUR
